Microsoft has been pretty secretive about the contents of its Windows 10 updates, but that's no longer the case as of today. That's starting to change: Microsoft has launched a new Windows 10 update history page, where you can see the highlights of the latest releases, starting with the February 9th update.
Fixed issues with authentication, update installation, and operating system installation. Bernardo Zamora, director of the Windows App Store at Microsoft, says brisk demand for the new OS, which was officially released on July 29, is already having a big impact on the Windows Store app marketplace. The Windows 10 system must be Azure AD joined, or joined to an on-premises Active Directory that is set to automatically register with Azure AD.
The problem with that line of thinking, however, is that Windows 10 isn't a web service that runs on Microsoft's servers but software the runs locally on users' machines. "This [Enterprise State Roaming] is very different from the roaming technology native in Windows 10", said Miller.
Azure AD Premium is a paid service, available separately for $6 per user per month; most commonly, it's obtained through a license to Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS), which includes Azure AD Premium as part of the package. Organizations are expected to want to use the current branch for business update approach, according to Microsoft's thinking.
"This past holiday season we saw double the number of paid transactions for PC and tablet customers over the previous holiday season, and Windows 10 customer[s] generate 4.5x more revenue per device when compared to Windows 8", noted Zamora.
It doesn't have details of earlier cumulative updates, so we don't know what was changed before, but the changelog does have high-level descriptions of changes that were made in today's cumulative update. The only new feature that the upgrade contains right now is a new browsing history menu for Microsoft Edge.
The site lists key improvements in each update, along with their rollout date and identifier.
Update KB3135174 is for systems using Windows 10 version 1507 (the July update of Windows 10).
