Oklahoma (20-3, 8-3) shot at least 50 percent from three-point range in three consecutive conference games during a particularly torrid stretch.

Hield, who scored 46 points in the first meeting, scored 18 of his 24 points in the second half for Oklahoma. And the Sooners aren't just shooting a high percentage because of volume - they rank fourth nationally in 3s made per game but only 44th in 3s attempted. Texas won at West Virginia, Baylor and West Virginia at Iowa State, Oklahoma at Baylor.

The bottom line is that these teams managed to play the game of the season last time around, and while it's unlikely that they will be able to top that, it's still just as big as the last time around. But regardless of what happens, it seems likely these two will meet again, perhaps in the conference tournament and maybe at the Final Four. They know each other well, know each others strengths and weaknesses and they are an experienced bunch that has great trust in each other. "If he'd have gotten 10 more touches, he could have scored 10 more points, easily". Four Oklahoma starters (Hield, Cousins, Woodard and Spangler) have started every Oklahoma game for the past three seasons.

A critical sequence started with about 13 minutes remaining. Arizona, however, will be out for revenge, and the Wildcats have been buoyed by the return of freshman guard Allonzo Trier, the team's third-leading scorer who missed seven games with a broken hand. But both? The Sooners are fortunate they split those games.

Still, I think OU fans should feel very comfortable about their team's chances in this one.

If you'll recall the last time that the Kansas Jayhawks and the Oklahoma Sooners faced off, they stole the attention of the entirety of the college basketball world in a triple overtime thriller between two of the top teams in the country. The only loss during that span was a game in which Ellis couldn't play because he had a sprained knee. The Jayhawks pushed their winning streak to four games Tuesday with a 10-point victory over West Virginia as the team's frontcourt took center stage.TV: 2:30 p.m. ET, ESPNABOUT KANSAS (20-4, 8-3 Big 12): Forwards Perry Ellis (21 points) and Landen Lucas (nine points, 16 rebounds, four blocks) fueled the win over Texas, although four of the team's guards scored in double figures, as well.

Oklahoma wasn't done answering Kansas, with Hield stepping up his game about midway through the second half.

On Jan. 4th, the last time these two teams played, Oklahoma's star player, Buddy Hield, put on a show at Allen Fieldhouse.

Oklahoma matched a season-low by shooting 33.3 percent from the field. Jordan Woodard is dishing 3.9 assists and Ryan Spangler is grabbing 9.8 rebounds. It's an appropriate title - even if the Jayhawks and Sooners can't replicate the thrill ride they produced that night in Lawrence, Kan.

It was dubbed by folks down in Norman as "The Rematch" of the best college basketball game of the year. Game, set, match to the Sooners.
