'Drunk' Man Jumps Into Lion's Cage At Hyd Zoo

A labourer, in an inebriated state, jumped into a lion enclosure at a zoo in Hyderabad, but miraculously survived. While the zoo staff did have tranquilizer guns handy, a report from Daily Mail (which includes NSFW photos) indicates that they were not of the fast-acting variety and would have done little to nothing to stave off the ongoing attack.

Two lions were killed after a man jumped into the lion enclosure at the Santiago Metropolitan Zoo in Chile, local police said Sunday. In order to protect the man, the two lions inside had to be killed. Ferrada was taken to hospital where he remains in a grave condition, due to lion-related injuries and the massive amount of tranquilisers in his body.

The zoo said it took the "incomprehensible action" of killing two of its three lions, which was "profoundly painful for every single one of us".

"Thodi thodi piya karo" is the catchline of a famous ghazal and had the man in question followed lesson in the said ghazal, he would not have put his life into a situation where the line was thin between life and death. After finding a cryptic note left in his discarded clothing, authorities believe that he may have been attempting to commit suicide. It was very Christian and it had drawings of lions.

She also said the man was "shouting things about Jesus".

The zoo remained open over the weekend, with only the lion enclosure closed for the investigation.

As nine year old Radhika and her another lion called Kishan approached the intruder, the lion keeper, named as R Papaiah, began calling the big cats and managed to direct them to the other side of enclosure.

An investigation is underway.
