Coronation Street's Kylie Platt to die in David's arms

Pictures taken from Paula Lane's final episode shows the moment Kylie dies in David's arms in the middle of the cobbled street.

'Coronation Street's Kylie Platt will take her final breath while being cradled by her husband David.

Speaking of whom... actress Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah, has ruled her character out of having any involvement in Kylie's death, on the grounds that she's now in a psychiatric unit. During Kylie's six years on the show, she has been at the centre of some high profile storylines.

Dolly, who plays Gemma, said on Lorraine today: "Gemma isn't actually there when she does die but the scenes were really emotional, and when they were filming them, everyone stopped".

Both Jack and Paula have promised that the final scenes will be like nothing the soap has ever seen before, with Jack calling them "the most moving scenes he has ever had to film".

However, the second photograph reveals David cradling his dead wife's body - confirming that she never makes it out of the street alive.

'The script is superb, every word, every moment of the scene was exactly right.

In the aftermath of her death, it's been teased that David will lose control again and start to reveal his wicked streak.

Paula has played Corrie favourite Kylie since 2010.

The scenes will come just as Kylie plans to skip town for good, as the stress of evading justice for Callum's death continues to haunt her. "There is a lot more drama in the coming months as David struggles to come to terms with losing Kylie", he continued.

Jack also hinted that the death of his character's wife would see the return of the insane out of control David saying, "There is a lot more drama in the coming months as David struggles to come to terms with losing Kylie". He and Kylie were so close to having the flawless life and now he is a single dad and a widower.

"It's very, very sad to see her [Paula Lane] go".

Coronation Street airs tonight at 7:30 and 8:30pm on ITV.
