UFC Star Ronda Rousey Is Heading To A Network TV Drama

The MMA fighter will guest-star in an upcoming episode of Blindspot, EW has learned.

Rousey has stayed out of the spotlight since her New Year's Eve loss in the UFC women's bantamweight championship, where her opponent Nunes took her down in just 50 seconds.

She'll team up with the drama's leading lady Jaimie Alexander for fight scenes. The episode with Rousey is now scheduled to air in early May.

Rousey has lost her last two fights by knockout - to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015, and to current 135-pound champion Amanda Nunes in December at UFC 207. Instead, her role is going to be that of Devon Penberthy, a female inmate in prison who hails from the White Mountains region of New Hampshire. She is a tough, athletic woman who knows how to fight and handle a weapon.

That should probably come as little surprise based on Rousey's recent results in the octagon, where the once-feared champion has lost her last two bouts by devastating knockout to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.

Expect to see Rousey ramp up her acting career while she continues mull over her future in fighting.

While Ronda Rousey's fighting career is still very much up in the air, one of her other pursuits looks to be picking up again.
