If this leak is true, you may be playing another Call of Duty game in World War 2. Specifically titled Call of Duty: WW2, the game had a new image posted to the WW2 subreddit, as seen above.
Interestingly enough Activision could be traveling back in time with 2017's release, thanks to a post on Reddit in which the alleged 2017 Call of Duty poster was leaked. The events have been depicted before in the series, but not for well over a decade.
The two sites have spread not just some posters but also the images of the Steelbook cases, it is unclear, however, whether this simple concept or if the artwork is already final.
The latest Call of Duty game, Infinite Warfare, received widespread criticism from the start when the first trailer was became the second most disliked video in Youtube history.
The promotional box arts created for Call of Duty: WWII are a little more interesting. It seems that the series will be returning to the traditional "boots on the ground" gameplay as the game is allegedly going to take place during World War 2.
Infinite Warfare simply didn't connect with audiences in the same way past games like Black Ops 3 and Advanced Warfare did. It's similar to how Battlefield previous year was just called Battlefield 1.
Adding more credibility to this leak are comments from Activision's Blizzard's own executives.
