Actor Kamal Haasan has paid a rich tribute to his elder brother Chandrahasan, who passed away last night in London.
A lawyer by profession, Chandrahasan stood by the actor like a rock, when his film Vishwaroopam embroiled in a controversy and was subsequently banned by the then Jayalalithaa government. He breathed his last at his daughter Anu Hasan's residence in London.
Ulaganayagan has two elder brothers - Charu Haasan (father of actor Suhasini) and Chandrahasan. Kamal Haasan said his life was enriched by his brother, who was also like a teacher and a father figure to him.
Chandrahasan was the in charge of Kamal Haasan's home production RaajKamal Film International.
Chandra Haasan is the only sibling among the Haasan brothers who has never acted in a movie. Chandrahasan was survived by his son Nirmal and daughter Anu.

Chandrahasan's daughter, Anu is popular for her show "Coffee With Anu" on Tamil channel Vijay TV. In January this year the Haasan family faced another tragedy when Chandra Haasan's wife Geethamani had passed away at the age of 73.
