When the event was in danger of being canceled seven years ago due to a loss in funding, Jimmy and Debbie Filipowicz and Steel Etc. stepped forward and offered to pay all expenses associated with the Easter Egg Hunt. Kids can also take part in nature-themed activities and learn about local wildlife.
Some 15,000 candy filled Easter eggs will be scattered throughout Maple Park Saturday, April 15 for the annual Wagoner Community Easter Egg Hunt. "Liam is very excited, he wants to get a bunch of eggs - we didn't tell him about it until we got here". The church will be decorated and the kids will travel to ancient Rome where they will meet Paul and learn about the underground church.
While they don't quite match the excitement of rushing to see what Santa Claus left under the Christmas tree, Easter egg hunts rank pretty high on a young child's list of favorite moments.
"Usually it's cold and rainy, and sometimes we have snow", Rich Kern said.

The hunt begins with a shot gun start at 10 a.m. on April 15. "He's going to make out well because he'll be gathering Easter eggs next Sunday".

Bank of Sullivan in Pleasant Hope has planned an Easter egg hunt for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, in the Pleasant Hope city park.

The park will be divided into sections with age groups marked with signs. Tickets are $15 per person, or $56 for a family of four, and Hatfield Farm encourages children to bring their own basket for the hunt. Each additional $5 pledge gets an additional egg. The organizers are pleased that the event has grown and continues to be a fun event for kids, and their families, to celebrate Easter.
