Marco Rubio says Russian hackers targeted his presidential campaign staff twice

Rubio said it happened again, less than 24 hours ago. He told reporters last week that he had seen troubling information about the improper distribution of Trump associates' intercepted communications, and he briefed the president on the material, all before informing his Democratic counterpart on the House committee.

"I believe it's critical that we dig into the financial aspects involved, and that we follow the money to determine whether the Russians have tried to use financial leverage to achieve their strategic goals", said Senator Heinrich.

Burr shared that the committee has requested 20 individuals be interviewed.

France's presidential elections have been compared to the US contest in November in part because far-right candidate Marine Le Pen has been called the French Donald Trump for her opposition to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and illegal immigration. They also are part of the House and Senate committee investigations into contacts between Trump campaign officials and Russians.

Flynn's ties to Russian Federation have been scrutinized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Trump and his associates deny any involvement and say the allegations are merely partisan attacks.

Earlier this month, CIA leaders raised concerns with McMaster about an intelligence director on his staff. McMaster moved to replace him, but the staffer, Ezra Cohen-Watnick, appealed to Bannon and Kushner, who got Trump to intervene to save his job.

In response to a reporter's question, Burr said he had not personally coordinated with the White House in shaping the scope of the Senate committee's investigation.

Cohen-Watnick is among about a dozen White House officials who would have access to the types of classified information Nunes says he viewed, according to current and former USA officials.

A congressional aide said Schiff did not receive the White House letter until after Spicer announced it from the White House briefing room. One of Flynn's lawyers, Robert Kelner, said they have had discussions with committee staff members, but Flynn has not been contacted directly.

Earlier this week, Senator Heinrich delivered a speech on the Senate floor to outline the facts on the investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 USA presidential election.

"This is going to be more on the "trim and optimize" as opposed to 'dismantle, '" said L. Roger Mason, Jr., an executive with the nonprofit Noblis and a member of the Trump transition team that focused on the national intelligence directorate.
