So far, six men and a woman has been arrested in conjunction with the investigation related to the attack that happened on Monday, moments after US singer Ariana Grande finished her performance.

Manchester police authorities are reporting that they executed arrest warrants on 3 individuals connected to Monday night's horrific bombing attack outside Manchester Arena.

The perpetrator, named as 22-year-old Salman Abedi, was born and brought up in the south of Manchester, Britain's third city.

"Following this arrest a house in Wigan was raided this morning and is now being searched", Greater Manchester Police said in a statement on Twitter.

"I want to reassure people that the arrests that we have made are significant and initial searches of premises have revealed items that we believe are very important to the investigation".

Police are continuing to guard the terraced house in Springfield Street, which was evacuated on Thursday evening after the discovery of "potentially suspicious items".

The man, who was carrying a package, was arrested in the town of Wigan, 17 miles (27 km) to the west of Manchester city centre.

Abedi's father and younger brother have also been arrested in Libya following the attack.

The woman was released without charge this morning, police said.
