New photo of Princess Charlotte released in honor of 2nd birthday

Tomorrow, Princess Charlotte will be two years old!

Charlotte's first birthday was marked with the release of four official photographs by her parents.

The photos were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge herself, around the family home Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

In a statement on Monday Kensington Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess are very pleased to share this photograph as they celebrate Princess Charlotte's second birthday".

The photograph was taken in April by The Duchess at their home in Norfolk.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released an adorable new picture of their daughter, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, to celebrate her second birthday.

She's wearing a gorgeous knitted cardigan with sheep on it.

While the pictures from the birthday party are awaited, we must also tell you that Princess Charlotte will be a bridesmaid for Pippa Middleton's wedding later this month. And while the public didn't get to see a whole lot of Charlotte in her first year of life, her second year was filled with cute moments and pics - including her first ever official royal tour! And Prince George's cheeky counterpart has grown into one adorable little girl.

Many are comparing her to her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as well as Lady Sarah Chatto, the daughter of the late Princess Margaret, sister to the Queen.

It is unlikely that we will see her grandfather Prince Charles at Charlotte's birthday as he is expected to continue his stay in Scotland this week. They are set to move back to Kensington Palace in London in the fall when big brother Prince George, who turns 4 in July, starts pre-school.

Making another appearance on Christmas day at church, Charlotte matched her mom's burgundy outfit in a navy coat paired with maroon tights and a dress.
