The BJP said it was an attempt to shift focus from the Kapil Mishra episode. "If Kejriwal is not found guilty, then he must file a defamation case against the person concerned and if found guilty, then he must resign within a second", said Hazare. On Tuesday, the former Delhi water minister had also challenged Kejriwal to contest an election against him.
Though the debate was being held against the backdrop of bribery allegations levelled by sacked minister Kapil Mishra against Kejriwal, neither Bharadwaj nor any other AAP member spoke on the bribery allegations. Mishra had earlier alleged that party members were using "illegal money" to fund their trips overseas.
He also said that he received an global phone call on Tuesday night threatening to "shoot me".
Mishra's letter comes a day after he was suspended from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following his allegation that Jain had also settled a Rs 50 crore land deal in favour of Kejriwal's brother-in-law. Mishra had gone on a hunger strike on Wednesday morning demanding that Aam Aadmi Party leaders should disclose the details of funding for their foreign tours.
The rebel AAP leader has accused the party supremo of taking bribes and acting like a dictator within the party.
"Kejriwal and his party have lied to that institution, which acts as a watchdog for political parties", Tiwari said at a press conference.
He alleged that both he and Kapil Mishra became victims of the party's ever-growing corrupt practices.
"Was it the money which (sacked Delhi Minister) Kapil Mishra saw you (Kejriwal) receiving from (Health Minister) Satyendar Jain?" He also wrote an open letter to Kejriwal.
Sources said Ankit told police that he didn't attack Mishra, he just went to ask him why he is doing all this against the party and in return his supporters attacked him. He submitted a complaint to Anti Corruption Bureau and then submitted three complaints to the CBI in the water tanker scam.
Anna Hazare, who was the mentor for Arvind Kejriwal in the early part of the latter's career, said he was not fully convinced by the allegations of Mishra.
