Trump tweets warning to Comey over leaks

"James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!"

Fired FBI director James Comey and President Donald Trump.

"The president has nothing further to add on that", Spicer said when questioned about a recording system.

"Even that is possible", he told reporters when asked whether he could announce his nominee by Friday, when he is scheduled to leave for the Mideast and Europe. I said, if it's possible, will you let me know, am I under investigation?

Trump on Tuesday fired FBI Director James Comey.

Again, the story that there was collusion between the Russians & Trump campaign was fabricated by Dems as an excuse for losing the election.

Trump, referring to the FBI's investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state, said that the steady flow of news surrounding that probe helped him as a candidate in the 2016 presidential election. Trump tweeted, referencing reports of Trump's January 27 dinner, where POTUS asked the extremely tall man investigating his campaign to pledge loyalty.

On Thursday, the New York Times published an account of a dinner, sourced to two Comey associates, that differed from the president's account. Asked about the termination letter he had his longtime bodyguard hand-deliver, in which he thanked Comey for "informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation", Trump offered a perplexing account of a dinner he had with the F.B.I. director, shortly after the inauguration.

The briefing began with National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster discussing the president's upcoming trip to the Middle East and Europe, despite threats from President Trump earlier in the day threatening to cancel press briefings in the face of fallout from Comey's dismissal.

"As a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with ideal accuracy!"

"I think the process is going to go quickly".

White House officials initially said Trump acted on a Justice Department recommendation, but the president later said he would have fired Comey anyway, calling the former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief a "showboat". "In fact, when I chose to just do it, I said to myself, I said, 'you know, this Russian Federation thing with Trump and Russian Federation is a made up story". He also told the students to come back to the White House for a celebration if they win.

The White House initially said Comey was sacked on the recommendation of the two top officials at the Justice Department.

"We can make a fast decision", Mr. Trump said. Nearly immediately after news broke of the termination on Tuesday, accounts surfaced that appeared to contradict the narrative emerging from the White House. Shutting down news briefings, the association said in a statement, "would reduce accountability, transparency, and the opportunity for Americans to see that, in the USA system, no political figure is above being questioned".
