They shared in a ticket that matched the five numbers in Wednesday's drawing, but not the Powerball.
The last Powerball drawing to produce a jackpot victor was on April 1, said California Lottery spokesman Mike Bond.
The numbers drawn were 32, 26, 20, 38 and 58.
The victor has not come forward yet.
If they choose to take a cash prize, they walk away with $279.1 million.
The Powerball jackpot had been accumulating since April 1.
The ticket was sold at a liquor store in Pawtucket.
"We're so blessed for this to happen", said Matthew Alberee, who owns the store with his dad.
The $447.8 million jackpot, a revised amount based on sales, is the seventh-largest jackpot in Powerball game history.
The winning ticket was sold in Sun City at at Marietta Liquor & Deli, which will score a $1 million bonus. Both amounts do not figure in a deduction for taxes.
According to CNN, the chances of winning Powerball are about one in 292 million, which translates to 0.0000003 percent. California is one of 44 states, plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, that participate in Powerball. The jackpot is the 10th largest jackpot in American lottery history, according to the L.A. Times.
