Police sources said that it was a suicide attack which targeted the vehicle of DPO Chaman Sajid Khan Mohmand on Boghra Road.

A police officer was killed and several others injured in a blast at Bogra Road in Chaman, Balochistan, on Monday.

Last month, fourteen people, including seven policemen, were martyred and 21 injured in a suicide auto bombing near the office of the inspector general of police in Balochistan on Gulistan Road, Quetta.

An emergency has been declared in provincial hospitals. The wounded have been shifted to Civil Hospital.

Three critically injured persons have been sent to Quetta for further treatment. Firing was reportedly heard in the area after the blast.

Assistant Commissioner of Chaman confirmed that the blast was of suicide nature and District Police Officer Sajid Khan was the target.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti condemned the attack.

The blast took place in Chaman city in Balochistan located near the Afghan town of Spin Boldak.

Law enforcement agencies reached the site and cordoned off the entire area.
