During the SSC Test, Jadeja collected the ball off his own bowling and hurled it at Pushpakumara "in a risky manner" as per the on-field umpires, which was found to be in breach of article 2.2.8 of the player's code of conduct.
Jadeja was also docked half his match fee and given six demerit points by the International Cricket Council over the incident, the second for the world's top-Test bowler in a year. Sri Lanka would be delighted at not having to face Jadeja, after his fifer in the second innings had sent them hurtling to a series defeat, and they would look at Kuldeep as the weak-link in the attack.

In assessing Kohli's latest achievement, it is worth remembering that this Sri Lankan team is among the weakest to take on India, the stirring batting of Dimuth Karuaratne and Kusal Mendis in the second innings not almost enough to cover up for the collapse in the first innings.
The ICC said that Jadeja breached article 2.2.8 of the player's code of conduct which prohibits "throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment such as a water bottle) at or near a Player... in an inappropriate and/or risky manner during an International Match". He also made an unbeaten 70 in India's only innings.
Batting first, India declared its first innings on 622 for nine and dismissed Sri Lanka for 183 and enforced the follow-on, commanding a 439-run lead.
"But at the end of the day you need to come out and prove what you are saying".
Ashwin took 51 Tests to achieve the double of 2000 runs and 250 wickets in Tests which is the fewest in Tests. He said that the way the wicket behaved when Sri Lanka batted first prompted that decision to enforce the follow-on.
The 39-year-old was not at his threatening best in the first two Tests, but still could have been unsafe in Pallekele, a venue where he decimated Australia with a nine-wicket match haul last year. With the bat, Rahane and Pujara were the stand out players.
