Jammu & Kashmir: LeT terrorist killed in encounter

At least one militant was killed in an encounter that between militants and security forces in Samboora village of Pampore town in South Kashmir's Pulwama district, late on Sunday night. As per Global Kashmir, one or two terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen are believed to be trapped. DGP, Jammu and Kashmir SP Vaid said two other militants managed to escape but one of them got injured.

The encounter took place after terrorists opened fire on security forces. The operation is over now with the Army confirming that they have also recovered bundles of ammunition from the encounter site.

Police, the spokesman said, is ascertaining the role of Umar in "different crimes perpetrated by Abu Ismail group".

In wake of the gunfight, authorities have blocked the internet services in Pulwama as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the district. The terrorists were said to be part of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. Meanwhile, on August 1, LeT Kashmir chief Abu Dujana and his aide were gunned down by the security forces in an encounter in the Pulwama District.
