The fest happened again in Toronto last night, once again with an all-star lineup including the Weeknd, Nelly, Rae Sremmurd, Migos, Cardi B, French Montana, and Playboi Carti. Oh yeah, and an announcement that Drake's working on a brand new album - in Toronto, of course.
Adoring fans took to social media to post snaps of the rapper perched atop a replica CN Tower, a scene that took on a life of its own after the 2016 album's release, with a viral online meme of tiny Drakes seated just about anywhere. This year's big event was a reconciliation between Drake and Tory Lanez, his fellow Toronto artist and former foe. In a short Instagram clip that has surfaced from last nights festival, Drake says that he's back to making his new album.
The former rivals appear to have squashed their beef.
However, with More Life out, Drake definitely knew that his playlist would still be bumping for the remainder of this year.
He addressed it from the stage at OVO Fest: "This guy right here, we had problems with each other and we hadn't even met each other".
"I met the man and he's a great guy".
At one point Drake even brought out his one time nemesis Tory Lanez and the two of them did a duet performing "Controlla". Watch footage below via Pitchfork.
