'Weekend Update' pokes Trump, Scaramucci on 'SNL' return

"Saturday Night Live Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che

The half-hour "Weekend Update: Summer Edition" will air live at 9 p.m. for the next four Thursdays on NBC. Jost and Che spent extra time on this week's biggest story, the increasing tension between the USA and North Korea, with Jost and Che getting their best knocks on Trump during this longer joke. But all the rules have been changed this year, suggesting that unless a nuclear exchange levels Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center, the prime-time "Weekend Update" will have lots to talk about. Co-anchor Colin Jost cited the upheaval surrounding the White House, saying that while he was unsure whether Trump had colluded with Russia, "He's definitely colluding with 'Dancing With the Stars'".

"You can't threaten someone when you're sitting down", he said.

"Missing Scaramucci was sort of like missing Christmas", Jost told NBC News, adding "there's always a chance" the former White House communications director might pop in. "Even FDR stood up when he was talking tough". (Mikey Day) appeared to discuss their father.

In May, Saturday Night Live finished its most popular and acclaimed season in over two decades with the help of Donald Trump's unpredictable presidency.

"When you met with the Russians?" actor Alex Moffat asked as Eric Trump.

"Yes, I went to the meeting, but nothing illegal happened", he insisted. "I'm like a goombah Beetlejuice", he said.

Day's Donald Jr. then has to show Moffatt's Eric how to use a fidget spinner, saying "you have to spin it".

"Everybody loves The Mooch", he said.

"All I did was sell my company, miss the birth of my child and ruin my entire reputation, all to be king of idiot mountain for 11 days".
