Here are the locals to pull for during Sunday night's Emmy Awards

'Saturday Night Live' and 'Westworld' are tied with the most nods. Who will come out on top?

Small screen's best stuff shines tonight at Emmys

It's nearly time for the biggest night in television!

In honor of Sunday night's big event, we look at some of our favorite series and stars celebrating all things Emmy.

Host Stephen Colbert (C) is joined by Television Academy officials for the Red Carpet rollout on September 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, ahead of this weekend's 69th Emmy Awards.

But, even with the intra-show competition factor, and "Westworld" boasting an edge mathematically with a larger number of categories left to win, it could still be a horse race. With 18 nominations, this new Netflix series also won four awards at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the weekend, a separate ceremony for secondary and technical categories.

17, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS, hosted by Stephen Colbert. Since 2015, the ceremony's star category has been dominated by Game of Thrones. Two-time Emmy champ "Game of Thrones" is out of the running this year because of a later broadcast date for its seventh season.

"Well I actually first heard I was nominated for my first Emmy while I was announcing them".

Known best for The Colbert Report, but turning heads as late night talk show host on The Late Show, Stephen Colbert will be hosting the 2017 Emmys so hilarious quips and political commentary are all but guaranteed.

Netflix leads among the all-digital players with 91 total Emmy nominations (for popular shows like The Crown and Stranger Things). Or will last year's victor Last Week Tonight With John Oliver pip James to the post once again? Oh!

Expect Stranger Things to pick up Outstanding Drama Series and Atlanta to steal Outstanding Comedy Series in spite of Veep being the favourite.

The two most nominated series this year are Sky Atlantic's sci-fi hit Westworld and NBC's flagship live show Saturday Night Live. The late Carrie Fisher could actually win for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in "Catastrophe".

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has won the last five Emmys for best actress in a comedy.
