Wide receiver Anthony Miller was the main recipient as part of the high-powered aerial attack with nine catches for 185 yards and two scores.

The UCLA Bruins did battle with the Memphis Tigers on Saturday. Memphis quarterback Riley Ferguson was 23 for 38 passing with 398 yards and six touchdowns. To that point, Rosen certainly hadn't been perfect-UCLA had ended its first two drives with punts and took a quarter to hit its stride-but he was the Bruins' best player by far, and suddenly an interception seemed to negate everything. Instead, he watched Memphis linebacker Tim Hart run back an interception untouched.

Memphis responded with a four-play, 81-yard drive, the final 3 yards coming on Ferguson's pass to Phil Mayhue with 9:56 left.

Josh Rosen looked alternately hot and cold as he kept the Bruins in the game with several big plays. He threw two touchdowns in the second quarter on short screen passes that turned into 47- and 42-yard scores.

Despite the risky mistake, Memphis held on, stopping UCLA on fourth-and-five at the Tigers' 46-yard line to seal the win. Running back Darrell Henderson darted 80 yards on the U of M's first play from scrimmage and on first-and-goal from 2 Ferguson found tight end Joey Magnifico for the score. Rosen had been flushed from the pocket and made the cardinal quarterback sin of throwing the ball late, across his body and down the middle. But on this day, Ferguson outplayed him, leading Memphis to 560 yards total offense. The first was a spectacular diving reception of 41 yards to the UCLA 33.

NOTES: With UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen considered the potential top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, scouts from five teams - the Buffalo Bills, Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals - attended the game.

Three losses in eight games would doom UCLA if a conference title is in sight.

"There's a formula for winning", UCLA coach Jim Mora said.
