Secret Superstar, starring Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Dangal girl Zaira Wasim, was released last Thursday on the special occasion of Diwali. The film, which was made on a modest budget of Rs 15 crore including Cost of Production and Print and Publicity, has recovered its money in its 4 day run at the box office. The collection of the film doubled on the second day. the Day 2 collection of Secret Superstar is around Rs 9.30 crore.
The breakdown figure of the film is as follows:- Fri: Rs.30.14 crore, Sat: Rs.28.37 crore and Sun: Rs.29.09 crore, taking the grand total collection to Rs.87.60 crore.
Secret Superstar is a complete Diwali treat to all the fans out there as the film is receiving a tremendous response from across the nation. The weekend also remained steady earning Rs 8.50 crore approximately on Saturday and Sunday each.
The leading trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that Secret Superstar is generating good business at main metro cities and multiplexes. The film has amassed love and praises from audience and critics alike. This film is facing heavy competition from Golmaal Again, which minted a whopping Rs 30 crore on its opening day i.e, Friday. Aamir is doing only an extended cameo in the film. The film was released on 19th October and is running strong at the box office.
Golmaal Again, which was released worldwide on October 20, marks Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty's 10th collaboration and features Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Tabu, Shreyas Talpade, Parineeti Chopra and Tusshar Kapoor among others. Its main lead is Zaira Wasim who also essayed the role of a young Geeta Phogat in Dangal.
