Conor McGregor Caught Using Homophobic Slur At UFC Fight Night Gdansk

Lobov, who had lost a featherweight contest to Andre Fili, was accompanied by McGregor backstage after the fight.

"The reason I interjected is because Artem gets a fourth cornerman cage side giving instruction", Goddard told MMAFighting. "All I'm saying (is) he's a (expletive)". Imagine had Conor talked him through a fight-ending sequence.

During the first round of the contest, Irishman McGregor strolled around the cage barking instructions to 'The Russian Hammer'.

"Conor was basically acting like a fourth cornerman", Goddard stated. Walking around the cage side wherever and whenever he wanted. "He can't do as he pleases".

"I thought you were going to sleep him", the Irish MMA superstar told Lobov, his teammate and close friend, while escorting the defeated fighter to his dressing room backstage at Poland's Ergo Arena. That's unfair and unjust. "I simply had to act".

Some have argued that Conor McGregor is the UFC's "golden boy" and can do whatever he wants, when it comes to the promotion, but referee Marc Goddard says that's not the case when he's officiating.

Lobov, who has 29 fights on his record aged 31, admitted after the loss that he is now considering retiring.

McGregor vocally supported Ireland's same-sex marriage referendum in 2015.

"We all deserve equal rights", McGregor said at a media day ahead of UFC 189.

It is unclear who McGregor's slur was related to. We all deserve the same rights.

"The UFC organization is disappointed with recent comments made by Fabricio Werdum at a promotional event in Los Angeles", the statement read.

Werdum apologised for his unacceptable behaviour on Twitter, insisting he meant no will towards the gay community.
