Cody Bellinger homered, drove in two runs and flipped over a dugout railing to steal an out for a dominant Yu Darvish, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 Monday night to finish a three-game sweep in their NL Division Series. Darvish was brilliant with just 76 pitches over five innings, allowing just two hits and a hit batsman, striking out seven. Bellinger got the scoring going in the top of the first inning with an RBI groundout before cracking an opposite-field longball off of Zack Greinke in the fifth inning. Los Angeles lost to Chicago in last year's NLCS. Bellinger became the youngest player in Dodgers postseason history to hit a homer. After Greinke gave up a home run to Austin Barnes in the sixth, he got the hook with his team down 3-0.
The Dodgers have won their last eight series clinching games on the road in the postseason and sweep a playoff series for the first time since they defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLDS in 2009 in three games.
If these predictions, as bold as they are, come true then they will be able to see a game four against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The game can be watched on TV on the TBS network, or online through live stream (details below). For the season, the Phoenix area-honed phenom has an even 40.
In that game, he was unable to get out of the fourth inning and he gave up four earned runs.
