GETTYManchester United are confident about reaching a contract agreement with Marouane Fellaini

The United striker missed Saturday's 4-3 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo as a result but Martinez has now declared the player is "100 per cent" fit to face Cyprus.

Fellaini has started three of six games in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals.

Speaking about Belgium's chances at a World Cup win, Martinez commented: "Everyone knows it is a golden generation".

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez says Romelu Lukaku is 100 per cent fit, but has raised concerns over the knee injury suffered by his Manchester United team-mate Marouane Fellaini.

As per the reports, the midfielder has suffered a knee ligament damage and will take nearly three weeks to recover.

Jose Mourinho is set to be without Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba against Jurgen Klopp's side.

Fellaini is now sure to miss United's trip to Anfield this weekend, while he will also miss Belgium's clash with Cyprus on Wednesday morning AEDT.

As the Belgian was confirmed to be missing United's game against Liverpool, some of the Red Devils' fans took to Twitter to express their sadness, and even anger with Belgium manager Martinez.

Romelu Lukaku, Fellaini's club and global team-mate, did not play against Bosnia-Herzegovina because of an ankle problem.

"He has gone back to Manchester United".

"I have not had any communication with Jose Mourinho on the subject of Marouane", The Mirror quotes Martinez as saying.

No doubt Mourinho will be watching nervously tomorrow night to see if Lukaku comes through the Belgian game unscathed as it would be a huge blow for United if he was to aggravate his ankle problem during a meaningless worldwide game.
