The 24-year-old striker scored six Premier League goals for Spurs last month, plus five more in the Champions League.

"We have [Manchester] United and the Harry Kane team, who scores every game two or three goals".

The Manchester City manager made the comment in the aftermath of his side's 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last month.

Harry Kane scooped his fifth Premier League Player of the Month award, and after his latest win, only one player is above when it comes to the individual monthly awards handed in the English top flight.

"When it's exciting after an fantastic victory against Chelsea, sometimes [he] can struggle to keep his position and be a gentleman", Pochettino said.

Asked if this constituted the best month of his career, Kane responded: "I'd say so, when you look at the amount of goals I scored in the games".

"That is my opinion like I respect his opinion but I think the players, more motivated or less motivated?"

"When he was at Barca, I never said "the Messi team".

Pochettino has responded by mentioning the fact that Lionel Messi was Barcelona's standout player during the unforgettable Guardiola era at the Camp Nou - but he never highlighted that to suggest the Catalan giants were a one-man team.

"That comment does not affect me but in reality, it was very disrespectful for many people", said Pochettino. When many people took the words, it was very sad and for many players that are here it is odd but, in my case, I didn't take it in a bad way.

"Of course [I will talk to Guardiola]".
