'The X-Files' Season 11 Trailer Drops at New York Comic Con

'The X-Files' Unveils “Hell On Earth” Season 11 Trailer – NY Comic Con

Gillian Anderson Leaving The X-Files After Season 11

In 2016, we experienced an exciting reboot of The X-Files and now, one year later, the first trailer for yet ANOTHER new season has officially dropped! It also was the season's most talked-about event series on Twitter, and now it's back for another special event series. Anderson added that the reason she agreed to come back for the 10th season after so much time away from the show was that she "felt like it wasn't over".

The trailer features Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) doing what they do best, which is getting caught up in all kinds of paranormal craziness.

From a hospital bed, Scully tells her Moulder that, he has "to find him and you have to stop him before he releases hell on Earth".

Yeah, okay, the last season of the X-Files was pretty hit and miss. She did say in the same interview: "You may need to talk to me in a few years about [missing the character] once I finally shut the door". Carter also said that Mulder and Scully's mysterious son William will be a major part of the new episodes, and called his storyline "brilliant". It didn't feel like we necessarily deliver everything the fans were expecting of us last time, and so it was that.

Speaking with a number of media outlets, the actress was asked if she was open to continuing the show after season 11, to which she replied: "No, no, I think this will be it for me". How exactly William fits into the puzzle remains to be seen.
