It's back and better than ever - Direct Wire & Cable has announced another year of supporting breast cancer research and reaching new levels of fundraising. There is now no known cure for breast cancer, so early diagnosis is critical.
Breast Cancer Now's Director for Scotland, Mary Allison, added: "As the UK's largest breast cancer research charity we are dedicated to funding the brightest minds to look into ways to save more lives from the disease".
"We also need to develop formal training modules for physicians and surgeons who are treating people with cancer to understand how to begin conversations about employment effects and incorporate those into our routine discussions", says Jagsi.
Although it has declined since the turn of the century, breast cancer affected 1 in every 8 American woman - according to the National Breast Cancer Foun=dation. However, the most significant risk factors are being a woman and age.
The study suggested the number of women with BRCA1 and 2 mutations who now choose to have a mastectomy could reduce by a third - from 50% to about 36%.
"Women who are on hormone replacement have a slightly increased risk of breast cancer", said Dr. Qalbani.
The fourth-annual Pink Dawg Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness takes place October 11 from 4-6 p.m. They hope to improve the gene test to include more variants that contribute to breast cancer chances.
