Ben McAdoo laments defense's lack of 'desire to finish'

It's important for us to realize, and I've talked to the team about, that every play and every game and every phase is so important in each and every game, and it got away from us today. Players bounced up and down in the middle of the locker room while their yelling made the boom box almost inaudible. The Patriots knew Garoppolo's contract was wrapping up the end of this season and would have had to franchise tag Garoppolo and pay him more than his legendary starter or give him a long-term deal and still pay him, depriving the team of making moves elsewhere. That kind of logic is beyond laughable and if that's the mindset of Kyle Shanahan, I'd have to seriously question his sanity.

Pugh, who had not played since October 22 against the Seahawks, said after Sunday's game that he felt good early in the day.

"I feel good", Shanahan said following his first win as an National Football League head coach. I was real happy for them. The Pro Bowler who missed last week's game serving a team suspension was beaten on an 83-yard touchdown pass and missed three tackles, including one that could have stopped a touchdown late in the first half. He did it early in the first quarter.

I texted another Giants player for their thoughts too on what I heard minutes before.

"Yeah, it's disappointing, but we just have to - we're in this situation, we're the reason we're in it, so we just have to keep working, compete every week and expect to win every week".

McAdoo replaced Tom Coughlin as head coach previous year and led the Giants to an 11-5 record and their first playoff berth since the 2011 season. "Because what you saw yesterday - and for that coaching staff and that head coach to let that guy stay on the field and play like that the whole game is an utter disgrace and is grounds for him to hit the pavement". San Francisco rolled up 474 yards of total offense. Peterson had 159 rushing yards the previous week against the 49ers.

"They all proceeded, grim-faced, to the team bus after the latest in a season saturated with embarrassing moments - 49ers 31, Giants 21 on Sunday at Levi's Stadium. You make them defend the whole field and you put guys in more of an advantageous (position)".

"That's not my plan", Shanahan said.

First off, congratulations to the San Francisco 49ers for picking up their first win of the 2017 season. Suspended two of our stars when we need them the most.

However you slice it, sports media talkers say, the 2017 Giants have quit on their coach, their front office, their fans and each other. Despite the injury, the rookie safety played the entire game.
