As for the road Bentley Continental GT, the third generation of the vehicle was presented to the public in August of this year, and the design of the model is not significantly different from last generation.
Bentley hasn't revealed exact weight figures, but says the new GT3 will weigh "significantly less than 1300 kg (2866 pounds)".
Bentley has unveiled a brand-new GT3-spec Continental GT racing auto ahead of the 2018 racing season.
"The new vehicle leaves no area or system untouched in the search for even better performance, and the early test results are promising".
It has the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 as the Continental GT V8, with a Cosworth engine management system, and when not restricted to GT3 guidelines, produces around 542bhp. This is the new Bentley Continental GT3 racer - Crewe's latest stripped out track auto that's here to destroy whatever's in its path with imperious grace.
'We have been able to take the weight saving in the road auto and transfer that to the race vehicle, ' said Gush.
It has already started a six-month test program in the UK, France and Portugal, while it is set to complete 24-hour endurance race simulations soon. A price for the vehicle has yet to be announced, but Gush promised that it would be "competitive". Teams that ran the previous version included Dyson Racing, M-Sport and Bentley Team Abt.
The 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup kicks off in Monza on 22 April with Bentley entering two brand-new Continental GT3s.
It's understood that the manufacturer has decided against fielding entries in the Sprint Cup.
Bentley will confirm drivers at a later date, but Gush said he was "aiming for a largely unchanged line-up".
