Buhari noted that his visit to Ebonyi was an affirmation of his government's commitment to achieve a united Nigeria for the benefit of all citizens.
President Buhari conferred with the title of Enyioma 1 of Ebonyi by Ebonyi traditional council of rulers led by Eze Charles Mkpuma during his visit to Ebonyi State on 14th Nov 2017.
"I also commend the state governor for his numerous infrastructural strides of which I have commissioned some projects he initiated", he said.
He was received at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, by governors of the South East led by Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, from where he was airlifted in an helicopter to Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital.
"Ibiam is a great Nigerian whose contributions and notable record in humanitarian-free primary education advocacy and rural development have been inspirational to all".
The president's first stop was the coal city, Enugu state, where he was given a warm welcome by state governors in the region, as well as traditional leaders at the airport. You have helped us quite a lot especially in the area of agriculture revolution and solid mineral.
"It is a prayer answered because you have sown in the land of Ebonyi and God has given you the strength and health to partake in that seed that you planted, we are grateful to give back to our father who has given so much to us", Governor Umahi said.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who is now on a 2-day visit to the South-East, has been conferred with 2 chieftaincy titles in Ebonyi State.
Others present were former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim former governor Sam Egwu.
