From the destruction of the movie set to BJP members seeking a ban on the film, the Supreme Court of India finally rejected all pleas of banning the movie on November 11.The apex court, however, feels it can not intervene in this topic since the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is yet to provide the certification of the movie Padmavati. "Once a censor certificate is obtained, we do not have any reservations with screening the film to quell any doubts that are being cast on the film, although such practice is without a precedent", Ajit Andhare, Chief Operating Officer, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, told IANS in an email interview.
Deepika said, " Shahid and I have known each other for so many years but a special film like Padmavati brought us together onscreen.
"The government must ban the release of film".
Till the expert group returned a finding on the allegations, the petitioner also sought a stay on the release of the film, which is scheduled for December 1.
Andhare is confident the CBFC will have "appropriate representation from the necessary quarters, historians included".
When is the film likely to be certified? "We have already clarified that all anxieties about the alleged depiction are unfounded". The Rajput community, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the Bajrang Dal and the Karni Sena held a joint protest against the release of the film in Gandhinagar and Surat on Sunday. Sanjay has personally assured in a video that the film celebrates the Queen and Rajput valour, dignity and traditions. The movie will release in 3D as well!
CBFC chairperson Parsoon Joshi said that an individual point of view does not change the collective view of an organization. To add fuel to the fire, Shahid Kapoor, who is playing Rawal Ratan Singh in the film, is reportedly upset with the makers for highlighting and giving more preference to Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
