Summary: The father of the 16-year old juvenile accused in the Ryan school murder alleged that his son was tortured by the officers of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and was being framed in the murder of 7-year-old Pradyumn.

The 16-year-old, standard 11th student arrested by CBI in connection with the murder of Ryan International School student Pradyuman Thakur has been sent to an observation home in Faridabad till the next hearing in the case. The CBI said he will be kept there until November 22 when the next hearing takes place.

An application in the court was also filed by the father of the accused alleging that CBI had violated the norms set by the court to interrogate the juvenile.

Earlier, the CBI produced the accused, who is a minor, before the JJB and demanded his six-day custody. The team asked him to explain the entire chain of events, that unfolded on that day as the team took various measurements and recorded time, among others, needed to commit the crime as part of a corroborative exercise, they said, adding it was done to ascertain the claims of the accused.

Pradhuman, the Class 2 student, was found with his throat slit on September 8 morning near the toilet of Ryan International School within an hour of his father leaving him at the school.

The teenager allegedly wanted to impede the approaching exams and parent teacher meeting and hence killed the boy.

A highly placed source in the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights told The Hindu that the teenager said the atmosphere at his home was tense because of constant fights between his parents.

On Thursday, the CBI before a juvenile court claimed that the class 11 student had confessed to his crime in front of his father and an independent witness. Reports say that the CBI had raided the Class XI student's house a month ago and had recovered some documents that had indicated his role in Pradyuman's murder.

They said the officer, a completely independent entity, remains present during the questioning sessions and also whenever the accused is taken to a location. CBI didn't deny the possibility of a few other people involved in the crime but have so far not apprehended anyone.
