Tennessee State Player Who Punched Coach Has Been EXPELLED

TSU Football Player Expelled After Violent Incident During Game

WATCH: Tennessee State player punches coach on sideline, gets kicked off team

A Tennessee State University football player was kicked off the team and expelled after allegedly becoming violent during a game. It is still unclear what sparked Lee's rage, but head coach Rod Reed immediately dismissed him from the sidelines and then kicked him off the team after the game.

As the strength coach for the Tennessee State football team, T.J. Greenstone's main responsibilities lie in the weight room and not the field of play. Greenstone, who appeared to be knocked out, toppled to the ground on the sideline. "We are committed to supporting the coach who was personally affected and our concern now is with him".

On the sideline, Greenstone's job is to keep "players who aren't in the game from getting too close to the sideline to avoid a penalty", according to the Tennesseean.

Expulsion really could not have come at a worse time for Lee, as he was a senior Criminal Justice major and Honor Roll member a year ago.

TSU won Saturday's game 23-20 over Southeast Missouri, and is 2-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play.

He was expelled from the university on Monday.

The Tennessean notes Greenstone is meeting with police today to decide whether he wants to press charges against Lee.
