WWE announced Monday that Roman Reigns will return to the ring on Raw after a viral infection sidelined him for almost a month.

WWE has announced that Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins will reunite as The Shield to face Sheamus, Cesaro, and The Miz in a six-man tag match on tonight's Raw.

The faction then went on a rampage taking out the likes of Cena, The Rock and The Undertaker, winning the WWE Tag Team and U.S. titles, beating famous stables like the Wyatt Family as well as Evolution and remaining undefeated in six-man tag team action for five months.

It has been rumored for weeks that at some point before Survivor Series, Raw will invade SmackDown in order to get their own back, and with only one more SmackDown show before the pay-per-view, it means Raw's siege of SmackDown will have to happen this week. Mickie James in a Triple Threat Match with the victor earning the final spot on the Raw Women's Team at Survivor Series.

The New Day has already faked a second SmackDown invasion, so having them lead the charge again and interfere with The Shield's business for the second time could be the catalyst for the rumored match.

In place of Reigns, Raw general manager and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle competed in his first WWE match in 11 years and turned in a winning effort alongside Rollins and Ambrose.
