The UNCW men's soccer team is headed to the NCAA tournament after securing an at-large bid.
This is Virginia's 39th NCAA tournament berth, which is fourth most among all Division I programs. The Cavaliers will play the victor of St. Francis-Brooklyn and Fordham on Sunday Nov. 19 at Klöckner Stadium at 5 p.m.
UIC (11-5-3) secured the automatic NCAA bid from the Horizon League for the second straight season after defeating top-seeded Green Bay 2-0 on November 11 in the conference tournament final. Game time is set for 6 p.m. CT.
Tickets for Thursday's match will be available at the entrance to Thompson Field. The Irish are a combined 4-5-2 (.455) against fellow NCAA Championship competitors this season, including a 2-0-2 mark in matches played at Alumni Stadium.
The Badgers will host the University of Illinois-Chicago at 7 p.m. Thursday at the McClimon Complex in a first-round NCAA game.
Virginia Tech (9-9-0) is in the tournament for the second consecutive year.
The Cavaliers will make their 39th appearance overall in the NCAA Tournament in which own a 62-31-5 record.
The victor of the match will travel to No. 6 overall seed Duke on Sunday, Nov. 19.
The field includes nine ACC teams. The Seahawks reached the NCAAs in 2009 and 2014.
Third Round (Saturday, November 25 or Sunday 26) - Eight, two-team Third Round games will be at non-predetermined campus sites.
