Anthony Davis Leaves Game with Groin Injury

Trail Blazers Host Pelicans For Second Time Saturday Night

Trail Blazers Host Pelicans For Second Time Saturday Night

The outcome of their game nearly seems secondary now, knowing that losing Davis for an extended period of time would be much more devastating to New Orleans than a single loss on the road.

Anthony Davis was carried off of the court due to a left groin injury suffered in the opening minute of the fourth quarter during Friday's 114-108 loss to the Utah Jazz.

The team announced that his return is doubtful.

New Orleans would go on a 12-0 run of its own, with Miller making two 3-pointers, but the Pelicans were unable to hold off Mitchell and the Jazz. Davis finished with 17 points and five rebounds.

In the afternoon, the big man learned he had been fined $25K for verbally abusing a referee and failing to leave the floor in a timely manner after his first career ejection Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The play went on for almost 20 seconds as Davis lay on the floor, clutching the left side of his midsection. Fifteen seconds later, he picked up his second tech and was ejected for the first time in his six-year National Basketball Association career.
