The same applies to 2003's Devil May Cry 2, while the Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition was afforded a PC release ahead of its European console counterpart in 2006.

It's been quite some time since we had a chance to mingle with the stylish slayer, but ever since we played the original Devil May Cry in 2001, Dante has remained an important character in the PlayStation ecosystem and beyond.

Capcom has revealed Devil May Cry HD Collection and its release date.

The post continues to say all three games will run "silky smooth 60fps gameplay", and links the following Japanese trailer for the first game that I'd never seen before. The original Devil May Cry was the brainchild of Hideki Kamiya, who then worked on Bayonetta. The series received a sequel soon after that was meet with a lot of backlash due to its bad combat and darker take on the series. This was quickly followed up with the superior Devil May Cry 3 which was essentially a prequel set before the events of Devil May Cry 2.

Earlier today, Capcom member Yuri Araujo announced on his blog that a new collection of Devil May Cry games is releasing next year on March 13 for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 gamers.

Priced at $29.99 United States dollars, the collection will available in physical and digital forms.
