The wins come on the heels of a string of successes for Ceridian, which was recognized as a Great Place to Work in both the USA and Canada, in 2017.

"We are continuously inspired and encouraged by the positive feedback we receive from our employees through Glassdoor", said David Rice, founder and CEO of New Home Star.

The insurers that were recognized by Glassdoor and made the list of Top 100 employers under the Large Companies category were Northwestern Mutual (67th), Travelers (80th), and Liberty National Life (97th). To be eligible, a company had to have at least 75 approved reviews from USA -based employees submitted between November 1, 2016, and October 22, 2017, with a minimum 3.5 percent overall company rating and a minimum 2.5 across workplace factor ratings (career opportunities, compensation & benefits, culture & values, senior management and work/life balance) during the eligibility period.

Companies that top Glassdoor's list seem to have cracked that code. "We celebrate our top two position on this list, but our vision is to build the best sales team in the world and we still have work to do".

"We know today's job seekers are more informed than ever about where they go to work, researching everything from company culture to career opportunities to pay philosophy and more". "What's more", he says "they offer a company culture that their employees truly believe in". It's perhaps best summed up by author and TED Speaker Simon Sinek: "Customers will never love a company until the employees love it first".

Making its debut in the Glassdoor Employees Choice Awards index the utilities company went straight in at number two in the United Kingdom, only beaten by web giant Google.
