Police have arrested a man they say stabbed two men over a parking dispute before plowing his vehicle into a group of pedestrians in Queens on Sunday morning, according to sources. Richardo Chatergoon, 23, from Far Rockaway was killed, and five others were injured.
One person is now "in custody for questioning", but police are still looking for the driver of a white Hyundai Sonata in connection with the hit-and-run incident, a police spokesman said.
"This white vehicle just hopped on the sidewalk and just drove straight into, like, the whole crowd".
"I saw a couple of kids, just fighting", neighbor Milagros Urbina said. The driver was described as a man with a ponytail. A third was hospitalized in stable condition.
Police said they later arrested the person they believe to be the driver, who fled the scene, and recovered the auto in another part of Queens.
Police say 22-year-old Adrian Harry faces multiple charges including murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
One person was killed and five others injured, one of them critically, from getting hit by the vehicle. Sources said he was also run over in the hit-and-run.
Officers initially responded to a 911 call after two people were stabbed in front of a lounge in Queens at around 4:30 a.m. He was then taken into custody after he was identified. The vehicle was found parked near the hospital.
