Pizza Hut is testing beer and wine delivery

Pizza Hut Is Now Delivering Beer With Pizzas

Pizza Hut Will Now Deliver Cold Beer and Wine to Pair With Your Pie

In an interview with CNNMoney, Pizza Hut's director of brand marketing Stacy Lynn Bourgeois said they're "excited to offer the convenience of beer and wine delivered to a customer's home".

Pizza Hut is thinking outside of the pizza box in an effort to boost sales. Only beer is available now, for $10.99 a six pack.

In Phoenix, the initial beer selection will be six-packs of Budweiser, Bud Light, Shock Top and Kilt Lifter, a local favorite. For reference, $11 is roughly as much as a cheap six pack costs in New York City. Pizza Hut plans to expand to wine in January and is exploring both single serving and full bottle options.

The company would not reveal to CNN which cities will be next to get delivery service.

As CNN points out, Pizza Hut would be the first pizza chain of that caliber to offer booze as a delivery option, as Papa John's and Domino's only offer family-friendly beverages on their delivery menus. Bourgeois added that Pizza Hut stores will need a license to distribute alcohol and delivery drivers must be 21 or older to deliver the goods.

Customers will be required to show their IDs at the door. The company has more than 16,000 locations, many of which already serve alcohol.
