Sci-Fi Series "Altered Carbon" Coming to Netflix on February 2

The first trailer for Netflix's adaptation of Altered Carbon is a hard one to sit through if you have a weak stomach.

Netflix is doubling down on dark sci-fi in 2018.

Altered Carbon will be available to stream on February 2, 2018.

Probably one of the biggest and most expensive shows Netflix has produced in the past two years, "Altered Carbon" finally has a release date!

"Centuries ago, mankind discovered a way to transfer consciousness into a new body making death a mere inconvenience", says the commercial.

Altered Carbon may ultimately flop, but it should absolutely look great.

The show centers on Enovy soldier (who are elite interstellar warriors) Takeshi Kovacs, played by Joel Kinnaman from House Of Cards.

The trailer introduces the novel's central McGuffin: in Morgan's version of the future, people can digitally copy their memories and personalities into a "cortical stack" and implant them in a new body, called a sleeve. The new Netflix series follows a soldier/P.I. named Takeshi Kovacs (played by both Will Yun Lee and Joel Kinnman) who wakes up centuries later in a new body to solve the murder of a billionaire.

Once the show releases, we'll have a full review, but also stay tuned for more information as it releases!

Below you will find the officialy synopsis for Altered Carbon, via Netflix. Earth's wealthiest man, Laurens Bancroft (Antonio Marziale) hires him for an unusual task: someone murdered Bancroft's previous body, and the new version wants Kovacs to track down the killer.

And, with a pilot shot by Emmy-winning Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik and writer-producer Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) spearheading the script, Altered Carbon is gearing up for quite an opening.

Conversely, series like Westworld seem to indicate that they're more than happy to see what the genre has to offer at home.
