Police say six people have been hurt in an accident involving three vehicles just blocks from the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.
The incident took place in the area of Broadway and Liberty Street in Tribeca, according to the New York City Police Department. The Lincoln continued eastbound and struck the rear-end of a Mercedes SUV before coming to a stop.
Police said none of the injuries are considered life-threatening. A person on a bike was hit in the crash. Authorities were working to determine whether the crash was intentional.
A witness, Hector Freytes of Queens, says people scattered as the vehicle sped along Liberty.
The crash happened less than a mile from the path where a driver plowed into bicyclists and pedestrians in October, killing eight people and injuring 12 others.
The driver of the Lincoln is being questioned by police.
