A 16-year-old boy, identified only as "Charlie" because of his age, is being sought and investigated following a graphic Snapchat video that shows him violently throwing a cat onto a street.
The sick star of the video holds the cat with two hands before launching it into the sky, and watching it land on the asphalt with a series of helpless yelps.
"So wiped out that individuals would go so low to manhandle creatures", she composed. Maggie Babbee, one of the 1,600 people who commented on the original tweet said: "Justice needs to be served, that poor cat didn't deserve that, it really broke my heart hearing the cry for help it was making". The cat suffered a fractured leg initially, but is said to have died due to internal bleeding.
She said Spots is a stray she found about four months ago. Investigators say they located the animal and its owner but no names were immediately released.
The feline's proprietor Perla and her mom revealed to NBC4 they decline to watch the video since it's excessively annoying.
Police in Ontario were investigating what appears to be a case of animal abuse on Saturday.
Another Twitter user, Ellie Butcher, said the video was "disgusting". The investigation is active and ongoing.
"I know who he is but I don't know his name", neighbor Oscar Ramos told CBSLA. "He probably did it just to look cool on video".
