Asserting that The roll-out of TVS Apache RR 310 "is the culmination of years of honest efforts", Mr. Radhakrishnan said that adding that the new bike "is a testimony to our racing DNA and R&D (research and development) capabilities". Christened Apache RR 310, the performance motorcycle is based on the Akula concept exhibited at at the 2016 Auto Expo. TVS Motor's entry into the new segment comes four years after a tie-up agreement between the Indian motorcycle major and Germany's BMW Motorrad. It is linked to a 6-speed super-slick gearbox as it does a 0-60kmph sprint in just 2.9 seconds before topping out at 160kmph.

The company is hoping to sell 10,000 TVS Apache RR 310 bikes in the first year. Being one of the most crucial bikes for TVS, the company has put in some serious man hours, putting the RR through a number of tests like the wind tunnel test for aerodynamics and track tests on multiple circuits in order to flawless its riding dynamics and handling characteristics. TVS Apache RR 310 Flagship Sports Bike has been the long-awaited model. This allows for enhanced stiffness in straights, and flex for dynamic cornering capability, which according to TVS leads to best-in-class riding dynamics. The motorcycle uses reverse inclined DOHC (double overhead cam) engine with LCOC (liquid oil coolant) technology which facilitates for a compact layout so as to get an ideal power-to-weight ratio and better mass centralization.
The motorcycle equipped with twin projector head lamps is the first fully faired motorcycle offered by TVS Motor.
To accentuate the handling and ride experience, the TVS Apache RR 310 gets the Race Spec KYB Suspension that is tested and tuned by MotoGP experts. Also, both Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system will be available as standard on the TVS Apache RR 310.
The bike is available in two colors which are Racing Red, and Sinister Black. It is a leader in the above-150cc to 200cc segment with a market share of 46 per cent (2.36 lakh units during April-October 2017) with its Apache brand.
