With many helping hands and after days of collecting, sorting, and organizing the Salvation Army carefully made sure gifts were given to the right families and no child was left behind.

Mina Demian with the Alex Community Health Centre says they have also noticed a slight fundraising drop.

"I've been out here ringing bells about three times this year", O'Mara said.

He said 1,500 meal boxes will be handed out over the Christmas holidays.

"There are many families that are hurting", Wood said.

"It's really rewarding", he said.
