Australia recall Cameron White

Cameron White has played 88 ODIs for Australia

Cameron White will fancy playing his first one-day global in three years after replacing the injured Chris Lynn in the Australia squad for the five-match series against England beginning on Sunday.

The 34-year-old has not represented Australia in any format since last being picked for the ODI side three summers ago.

Maxwell was dropped last week in favour of form Queenslander Chris Lynn.

Maxwell denied rumours of a rift.

"I'll sit down with Steve when he gets to Melbourne and have a chat with him", Maxwell said on Tuesday. It's something I've always wanted to do, is get back and have another go at it, he said.

"In the back of my mind I never really gave up all hope".

White has averaged 142.5 for the Melbourne Renegades this season.

The 34-year old's call-up comes after a relatively good domestic season where he is now the second highest run-scorer in the BBL and years of vast experience leading his domestic side, something to which Trevor Hohns, the Australian national selector, pointed out to their choice. The selection also suggests that he is in scheme of things for the 2019 World Cup.

"He's one of the leading run-scorers in the BBL, he's experienced, he's a very smart cricketer and he's a good fielder", Hohns said.

Chief selector Trevor Hohns had high praises for White and insisted that his present form has earned him the recall. "He ticks all the boxes for what we need at this stage".

In the worldwide arena, Neds have the Aussies at $1.38 to win the series, with England at the juicy odds of $3.10.
