Such is the case for poor Brad Pitt, who was outbid for the opportunity to watch an episode of the show with Daenerys Targaryen herself, Emilia Clarke, during the auction portion of a Sean Penn's annual star-studded benefit for Haiti. The victor went up to $160,000, which Pitt let go. Pitt upped his bid when Clarke's co-star, Kit Harington, agreed to join in on the viewing party.
Reportedly, the auctioneer started the bidding at $20,000 dollars, with the race quickly escalating and Pitt bidding $80,000 for the privilege before outbidding himself to $90,000. When Harington offered to also sit in on the episode viewing, Pitt raised his own bid to United States dollars 120,000.
But then an anonymous bidder came in and ruined his fun by offering $160,000 to take the prize.
Brad Pitt put down $120,000 (£88k) for the chance, but was pipped at the post by an unnamed bidder who got over the line with an impressive bid of $160,000. Other times up for bid included a painting by abstract artist Josh Smith, which ended up being won by both Leonardo DiCaprio and Emilia Clarke.
The event raised money for the J/P HRO & Disaster Relief Organizations and raised more than $3 million by the end of the night.
