President Winfrey? No way, says political prognosticator Donald Trump.

"We welcome the challenge, whether it be Oprah Winfrey or anybody else", White House spokesman Hogan Gidley told reporters on Monday, adding that Trump will definitely run for reelection. "I think one of the arguments against Oprah is 45".

She said: "I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon!" She's really a great woman, though, she is a terrific woman.

And after some pushing and prodding from her co-anchors, King said she agreed.

"I think one of the arguments for Oprah is 45", Pelosi said, referring to Trump in shorthand for the 45th president. Her appeal extended well beyond her celebrity, some said, citing her compassion, kindness and devotion to helping others as a badly needed change after Trump.

On Monday, Winfrey's longtime partner, Stedman Graham, told the Los Angeles Times that "it's up to the people" whether she will be president, adding, "She would absolutely do it".

She posted: "And now I'm crying".

Trump begins by saying "I'll beat O.", before stopping mid-sentence to flip the script: "Oprah would be a lot of fun". Trump said in the interview.

And Oprah also won praise from tablemates Eva Longoria and Keith Urban.

But King did acknowledge a glimmer of hope for those dreaming of an Oprah bid: "I do think she's intrigued by the idea".

"I probably wouldn't, but I do get exhausted with seeing what's happening with this country and if it got so bad I'd never want to rule it out totally", he said.

Oprah Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King, is downplaying any suggestion that Winfrey might run for president.

Winfrey gave an impassioned speech Sunday night at the Golden Globes, which has sparked talk about whether she might run for president. In fact, she was brought into the mix nearly 20 years ago by current President Donald Trump. But her political positions are largely unknown.

She wrote: "Just saw Oprah's empowering and inspiring speech at last night's #GoldenGlobes".

"Over the years, I've voted for as many Republicans as I have Democrats, so this isn't about partisanship for me, this is very, very personal", she said.
