However, the country-specific payment products like Tez in India are still left out, but Google is promising that the unified experience will come to the Tez users.

Alphabet Inc.is consolidating its various payment brands under one name: Google Pay.

Today, we're excited to announce we'll be bringing together all the different ways to pay with Google, including Android Pay and Google Wallet, into a single brand: Google Pay. "We look forward to working with Google as they grow this exciting new payment platform".

In the coming weeks, Google says Google Pay will be found online, in stores and across other Google products.

To promote the launch, Google is also offering special discounts when you buy something via Google Pay from B&H, Fandango and Instacart. Both Apple Pay and Samsung Pay have established themselves as product-independent but company-specific payment solutions that enable one account to make payments across multiple devices.

It wouldn't be surprising to anticipate that, in the future, consumers might be use Google Pay to purchase tickets ofter watching a movie trailer on YouTube.
